Important Notice — Content Aggregation Disclaimer
StreetScoop does not create, own, licence, or claim any ownership of the news content displayed on this platform. StreetScoop is a news aggregation service that indexes and displays publicly available article headlines, summaries, and metadata — information that is freely accessible on the open internet without any login, subscription, or payment.
We do not reproduce, host, store, or redistribute full article text, images, multimedia content, or any content that resides behind a paywall, login wall, or other access restriction. All intellectual property rights in the underlying articles remain exclusively with the original publishers, authors, and rights holders. StreetScoop functions as a directory and navigational tool — comparable to a search engine or RSS reader — that directs users to the original source via outbound hyperlinks.
By using StreetScoop, you acknowledge and agree that all third-party content is the property of its respective owners and that StreetScoop bears no responsibility for the accuracy, completeness, legality, or reliability of any third-party content.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using StreetScoop ("the Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provisions of this agreement. If you do not agree to these Terms of Service, please do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
StreetScoop is an Australian finance and business news aggregation platform. The Service collects, organises, and presents publicly available news headlines, article summaries, publication metadata (such as author names, publication dates, and source identifiers), and hyperlinks to original source articles published by third-party news organisations.
The Service operates in a manner functionally equivalent to internet search engines, RSS feed readers, and other news aggregation services. StreetScoop:
- Indexes only publicly accessible content that is freely available on the open internet
- Displays only article headlines, brief summaries or excerpts, and associated metadata
- Provides direct hyperlinks to the original published articles on the publishers' own websites
- Does not copy, reproduce, host, cache, or store the full text of any article
- Does not circumvent, bypass, or otherwise defeat any paywall, login wall, access control, digital rights management (DRM) system, or technical protection measure of any kind
- Does not access, scrape, or index any content that requires authentication, subscription, payment, or any form of access credential
- Does not frame, embed, or inline the content of any third-party website
3. Third-Party Content — No Ownership, No Endorsement
All news content accessible through the Service — including but not limited to article headlines, summaries, excerpts, author attributions, and publication metadata — is the exclusive intellectual property of the respective third-party publishers, authors, and rights holders.
StreetScoop expressly disclaims any and all ownership, copyright, or proprietary interest in any third-party content. StreetScoop does not:
- Create, author, edit, modify, or alter any third-party content
- Claim copyright or any other intellectual property right over third-party content
- Endorse, verify, warrant, or guarantee the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or reliability of any third-party content
- Control or have any editorial oversight over the content published by third-party sources
- Act as a publisher, republisher, or distributor of third-party content within the meaning of any applicable copyright, defamation, or media law
The inclusion of any content from a third-party source does not imply any affiliation with, sponsorship by, or endorsement from that source. All trademarks, trade names, logos, and brand identifiers displayed in connection with third-party content belong to their respective owners.
4. Fair Dealing and Permitted Use
To the extent that any activity of the Service constitutes a "use" of third-party content within the meaning of the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth) or any other applicable intellectual property legislation, StreetScoop relies upon the following legal bases:
- Fair dealing for the purpose of reporting news under section 42 of the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth), as the Service provides a sufficient acknowledgement of the original source and links directly to the original publication
- Fair dealing for the purpose of criticism or review under section 41 of the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth)
- Insubstantial reproduction — the display of short headlines and brief summaries does not constitute reproduction of a "substantial part" of any copyrighted work within the meaning of section 14 of the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth)
- Hyperlinking is not reproduction — the provision of hyperlinks to third-party content does not constitute copying, communication, or reproduction of that content under Australian or international copyright law
- Publicly available information — all indexed content is made freely available by the original publishers without any access restriction, and is equally accessible to any internet user, search engine crawler, or automated indexing service
5. No Paywall Circumvention
StreetScoop does not access, bypass, circumvent, or defeat any paywall, subscription wall, metered access system, login requirement, or any other technical protection measure employed by any third-party publisher.
Every article headline, summary, and piece of metadata displayed on StreetScoop is derived exclusively from information that the original publisher has made publicly and freely available on the open internet — including, without limitation, through publicly accessible web pages, RSS feeds, Atom feeds, open API endpoints, structured data markup (such as Open Graph, Schema.org, and Twitter/X Card metadata), HTML meta tags, sitemaps, and robots.txt-compliant crawlable pages.
When a user clicks on an article link within StreetScoop, they are directed to the original publisher's website. If the full article is behind a paywall or requires a subscription, the user will encounter the publisher's own access controls. StreetScoop has no ability to grant, facilitate, or provide access to paywalled content, and makes no representation that users will be able to access the full text of any linked article.
6. Attribution and Source Linking
StreetScoop provides clear and prominent attribution for all aggregated content, including:
- The name of the original publication or news source
- The author's name, where publicly available
- The original publication date
- A direct hyperlink to the original article on the publisher's website
StreetScoop actively drives traffic to original publishers by directing users to the source website for the full article. The Service is designed to complement, not compete with or substitute for, the original publishers' offerings.
7. Content Removal — DMCA and Publisher Takedown Requests
StreetScoop respects the intellectual property rights of all content creators and publishers. If you are a rights holder or an authorised representative and believe that content displayed on StreetScoop infringes your copyright or other intellectual property rights, you may submit a takedown request.
7.1 Takedown Request Requirements
A valid takedown request must include:
- Identification of the copyrighted work or intellectual property claimed to be infringed
- Identification of the specific content on StreetScoop that is alleged to be infringing, with sufficient detail to locate it (e.g., URL)
- Your full legal name, contact information (address, telephone number, and email address), and your relationship to the rights holder
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material is not authorised by the rights holder, its agent, or the law
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notification is accurate and that you are authorised to act on behalf of the rights holder
- Your physical or electronic signature
7.2 Response to Takedown Requests
Upon receipt of a valid takedown request, StreetScoop will:
- Acknowledge receipt of the request within two (2) business days
- Review the request and, where valid, remove or disable access to the identified content promptly — typically within five (5) business days
- Notify the requester of the action taken
Publishers and rights holders may also request blanket exclusion of their content from StreetScoop's indexing. Such requests will be honoured within a reasonable timeframe. We also respect robots.txt directives and will exclude content from any publisher that opts out via standard web crawling protocols.
Submit takedown requests to: legal@streetscoop.com.au

14. Subscription and Payments
Some features of the Service may require a paid subscription. Subscription fees are for access to the StreetScoop platform and its aggregation, organisation, and filtering features — not for access to any third-party content itself. By subscribing, you agree to pay the applicable fees. Subscription fees are non-refundable except as required by Australian Consumer Law. We reserve the right to modify pricing with reasonable notice.
15. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including breach of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.
